Ten years later

It has been a minute

We met in September 2009 while Alex studied abroad in Freiburg. After years of going back and forth in a long-distance relationship between Germany and the US, we ran into visa trouble in 2015, and Nadine couldn't return to the US anymore.

We're not ones to let the government kill our love. So after a lot of paperwork, we got married in the old Freiburg courthouse on May 19, 2016.

This allowed Alex to live in Germany, but it still took a few years before Nadine could return to the US.

It's been ten years, two kids, and a whole lot more. We've still not had the chance to celebrate together with you, so let's do it!

Please join us in celebrating ten years of our marriage, the official American wedding party we never had.

Getting there

Ohio is closer than you think

Fly

Cleveland Hopkins (CLE) is ~40 minutes north; Akron-Canton (CAK) is ~25 minutes south. Pittsburgh (PIT) is a scenic 90-minute drive if fares are kinder.

Stay

Kent and Streetsboro offer hotels and Airbnbs nearby. If you need help, please get in touch.

Drive

Sugar Bush Knolls sits just off Route 43 between Kent and Hudson. Parking at the venue will be simple.

Make a weekend of it

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is twenty minutes away and worth the detour. We'll share a few favorite breakfast spots closer to the date.

Your presence

No gifts, please

Ten years in, we already have everything we hoped for. Your presence — in the garden, at the table, on the dance floor — is the only present we're after. Truly: no gifts. Just you.
